Install LifetimeCloud as an App, No App Store Required
Native Mac, Windows and iPhone apps are on the way — but you don't have to wait for them. LifetimeCloud already installs as a real app, with its own icon and full-screen window, directly from your browser, on every major platform.
What "installing" actually means here
LifetimeCloud is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA) — a website that can be installed like a native app because it ships a manifest (app name, icon, colors) and a service worker that lets it run offline-tolerant and load instantly on repeat visits. Installed, it behaves like any other app: its own icon on your home screen or dock, no browser address bar, and it stays available even with no internet connection for parts of the interface that don't require live data.
Installing on iPhone (today, before the native app ships)
- Open lifetimecloud.me in Safari — this only works from Safari, not Chrome or another browser on iOS.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Choose "Add to Home Screen."
This gets you a genuinely full-screen app experience today, ahead of the native iOS app that's currently in development with planned camera roll backup and Files integration.
Installing on Android
Open the site in Chrome and either tap the install prompt if it appears, or open the browser menu and choose "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen." This is a lighter-weight alternative to the dedicated Android APK — both give you a real app icon, but the APK is a native build while this is the installed web app.
Installing on Mac or Windows
From Chrome, Edge, or another Chromium-based browser, look for an install icon in the address bar (or the browser's menu → "Install LifetimeCloud"). It installs as a standalone window separate from your regular browser tabs, launchable from your dock or Start menu like any other desktop app — ahead of the native Mac and Windows apps currently in development.
How to tell if it's already installed
If you've already installed it, visiting the homepage shows a confirmation ("You already have LifetimeCloud installed as an app") instead of the install prompt — so there's no risk of installing it twice or wondering whether it worked.
Does installing change any security guarantee?
No. Installed or not, you're running the same code, with the same client-side AES-256-GCM encryption and the same zero-knowledge architecture described in our encryption explainer. Installing changes how the app looks and launches — not what it's allowed to see.
An app on every device, right now.
No app store, no waiting for the native release — install LifetimeCloud today on whatever you're reading this on.
